What was not working
- a bought theme with a page builder on top, loading everything on every page
- a category menu with broken links and no categories on mobile
- product photos on a white background, on a dark site
- a heavy cart and checkout, with many steps before the order
- brand pages that showed up wrong in Google results
What we changed and why it matters
A theme written for MedComponents
Each page loads only what it uses. Fewer files mean the page shows up sooner on phones, where most visits happen.
Search that finds the product
It understands Romanian with and without diacritics, plurals and "rtx5070" typed as one word. A customer who finds what they want does not leave for a competitor.
A shorter checkout
Fewer fields and checkboxes, and delivery is picked at a glance, from cards. Fewer steps between cart and order.
Filters that answer instantly
They apply without reloading the page, in a few milliseconds, and show right away how many products are left. Items in stock come first.
A home page that updates itself
The best seller, the top of the range and the most affordable system change with real sales and prices, without anyone moving them by hand.
A product page that sells
A gallery with video, specifications grouped into sections, instalments shown up front and the add-to-cart button always within reach, on phones too.
The new pages
Relaunched without a day offline. The shop kept selling while we worked. Everything was built on a separate copy, and the switch happened in a single evening, with a backup first.
